- This Policy regulates the correction and retraction of articles published in the Japanese Journal of Human Geography.
- In case of errors in already published papers and articles, an errata list shall be published in the Japanese Journal of Human Geography to correct them. Authors wishing to publish an errata list shall submit a document detailing the error and the correction to the Editor-in-Chief. The Editor-in-Chief shall decide on the content and publication of the errata notice after deliberation by the Editorial Board.
- If a published article contains serious errors or content violating the “Code of Ethics of the Human Geographical Society of Japan” and the “Code of Ethics for Journal Publication,” such as duplicate submission, fabrication, falsification, or appropriation of content, the article shall be retracted. Retractions of articles shall be announced in the Japanese Journal of Human Geography.
(1) If the possibility of retraction is raised by parties other than the author, the Board of Councilors shall decide on the appropriate action, including retraction, in accordance with the “Details of Supplementary Regulations of the Code of Ethics of the Human Geographical Society of Japan.”
(2) If the author of an article requests retraction, the author shall submit a document stating specific reasons for that. The Board of Councilors shall decide on the appropriate action, including retraction, by applying the “Details of Supplementary Regulations of the Code of Ethics of the Human Geographical Society of Japan” mutatis mutandis.
[Supplementary Rules] Amendments to or abolition of this policy shall require the approval of the Board of Councilors.
